Rough Planned Schedule

2 Dec

Hi, everyone

This is my very rough plan for the next few months … which is subject to change without notice <grin>

December – The Pen and the Sword (The Empires Corps 15)

January – Cursed (Schooled in Magic 17).

February – The Right of the Line (Invincible 3, Ark 14).

March – The Ancient Lie (The Unwritten Words II)

April – (unsure as yet, perhaps A Learning Experience 6 or Zero 6)

May – Debt of War (Kat Falcone.)

  2. Hugh Blair December 2, 2018 at 9:25 pm #

Like your schedule if you make Learning Experience your April release. Hope your health continues to improve.

I just learned about your health problems. Get well soon, Chris, you have given me so much pleasure with your stories – so grippingly written – may you continue for a long time to come.

Ok loveing all of them. but how about a New Book Series set 3rd era of space travel, tech and magic are interchangeable, human/animal/alien hybrids are normal on some worlds baned from core worlds, just a few adverage consepts to consider, plus what if thuntercats and he-man were a few star systems apart.

i really like this idea to but im hyped for cursed

  4. J. Ferengi December 2, 2018 at 9:39 pm #

I like zero 6 and then Kat in May. Good wishes and prayers for your recovery.

  5. Mike December 2, 2018 at 9:45 pm #

    Zero 6 December yeah? :p

I’d like Zero 6 over A Learning Experience 6 in April, please.

  6. Guy Marc GAGNÉ December 2, 2018 at 9:59 pm #

It appears to be a very reasonable course to chart.
As your energy levels are not where they once were…

!!! Focus on your recovery and family, as that is what matters most !!!

As another fan has said, ” … we are already hooked… ” so take care & be well!
All of us are and, will be there for you and that which your imagination
produces for the greater enjoyment of all.

To dissenters: Honi soit qui mal y pense!

    • Ann December 2, 2018 at 11:27 pm #

I’d be happy to read either Learning Experience or Zero before any of the earlier books but as to which you write let that be by best seller series and most fun to write.

  7. Sarah December 2, 2018 at 11:34 pm #

Really looking forward to Cursed in the New Year! After that cliffhanger ending, thank you for putting this one so soon on your schedule and not making us wait too long. My vote for April would be Zero 6 please, the extract you published gave an enticing introduction to it and I am really looking forward to reading it. As others have said though please take care of yourself Chris, don’t push yourself too hard, relax and enjoy the festive season – your readers will wait for you!

  8. William December 2, 2018 at 11:46 pm #

I’d prefer Zero 6, but when did Zero 5 come out?

    • Jacob Reed December 3, 2018 at 6:36 am #

I think he’s talking about the Alchemist’s Apprentice one – so Zero 5 is probably going to come out sometime before then, maybe hopefully?

      • Jacob Reed December 3, 2018 at 6:37 am #

I can’t edit my post – so I meant that Zero 5 is the alchemists apprentice, if I’m not mistaken, and it hasn’t been released yet – though he may have finished the first draft.

    • chrishanger December 9, 2018 at 2:57 pm #

It should be out in a month or so.

  9. Jared December 3, 2018 at 1:13 am #

    Sweet I like the schedule

  10. Daniel December 3, 2018 at 3:19 am #

I like it. Kat Falcone I’m happy about. What happened to the family magic book?

  11. William Ameling December 3, 2018 at 6:46 am #

One book a month is a VERY heavy production rate, don’t overdo it and watch your health. I am most interested in SIM books and maybe Zero books.

  12. Anarchymedes December 3, 2018 at 10:23 am #

I’m glad Kat Falcone is once more on the list: I believe these books are so good because you give them time to ripen, rather than hammering out the umpteenth installment for the all-too-eager and demanding fans. At least something to gnaw on for the likes of me, who’d take quality over quantity any day, and in almost any area.

  13. ander75it December 3, 2018 at 10:55 am #

Yay for Cursed and the Right of the Line!
However, please do write at the rhythm that is OK for you and don’t mind us fans too much.
Best of luck with your recovery.

  14. Ron December 3, 2018 at 11:04 am #

Yes ! Kat Falcone comes back !

But whatever happened to The Embers of War in that series ?

    • Paul (Drak Bibliophile) Howard December 3, 2018 at 11:53 am #

It got delayed on account of sickness (on Chris’s part).

  15. George December 3, 2018 at 11:26 am #

Kat Falcone and Invincible definitely, but first and foremost i agree with what others have wrote, health and family first. Glad things are on the up for you.

  16. Dennis J Grimes December 3, 2018 at 2:34 pm #

Love Ark Royal series. I would argue Zero over Learning Experience. You can easily decide, just look at the sales/downloads from each series and do the more popular one.

  17. Mark December 3, 2018 at 4:35 pm #

SIM definitely. Kat Falcone, definitely. Zero – if more of main character of first book, Absolutely!!! Empire Corp, Learning Experience…ehhh,

  18. Carole Sullivan December 3, 2018 at 5:37 pm #

This is great! Thank you Chris. Looking forward to each and every one of them.

  19. G December 4, 2018 at 12:10 am #

Thank you for writing Cursed soon!!! I also loved the snippet of The Alchemist’s Apprentice–better even than the original heroine in Zero 1… I enjoy the story of someone from the lower classes rising in ability, power, and influence…

  20. Darryl December 4, 2018 at 6:49 am #

You write it, I’ll buy it and read it.

  21. George Phillies December 4, 2018 at 10:14 am #

An incredible writing schedule. I have no idea what income you generate from these, what your taxes are, or what you need for your family including putting money away for the future, and sometimes Needs rule, but perhaps a slightly slower schedule that you can beat would be less frustrating.

  22. Bradley Dillinger December 4, 2018 at 4:50 pm #

I’m most interested in SIM books, thanks for all the hard work!

  23. Big Ben December 4, 2018 at 4:52 pm #

    An ambitious schedule!
While I enjoy everything you publish, my (relatively minor) complaints are that some of your series are getting rather long and … well, there’s so many of them, which makes me sound like a miser complaining that his gold bars are too heavy.
I would actually like to see some of your series with a dozen-plus books brought to a (hopefully wonderful) conclusion. Every time a new SIM comes out I find myself struggling to remember events and characters from many books past that I haven’t read in years.
And because you have so many different series going at once it’s usually months or even years (more Gwen any time soon?) before you write the next installment, even though you’re one of the most prolific writers I know of.
All that being said, I look forward to whatever you put out next and hope your health continues to improve.

  24. Sooty December 4, 2018 at 9:54 pm #

The only real chance I have to “read” these is walking into work and back. Is there any view on when the various audiobook versions are available? They are generally my primary versions of all books.

  25. Les Barrie December 8, 2018 at 6:16 pm #

    Learning experience please.

  26. Sooty December 9, 2018 at 4:32 pm #

Most of the time I “read” by listening to audiobooks on my walks to work and back. Is there a rough idea of when audiobook versions might be released in the schedule?

    • chrishanger December 15, 2018 at 4:18 pm #

Not really. It happens when it happens.

  27. Timothy Canning December 10, 2018 at 9:27 am #

First, having justvread the forward to Parabellum please let me say you are indeed in our prayers Chris and I wish you all the best as you go through this horrid thing. Been there and it’s not nice in any way, but it can be beaten, good luck!

Very much looking forward to reading Parabellum and then Right of the Line and am excited at a new Kat Falcone novel also! I’m also intrigued by what ideas you may have for new universes as well, I’ve been enjoying your ideas and thoughts since discovering Ark Royal a few years back. For me the non-magical, non-fantasy world woukd cone first but I’d just be being selfish if I said that! He he…! Keep well fella,

    Tim C

First of all, I want to say I am so sorry for all of your health problems right now. You are in my prayers for a full recovery. That being said, I REALLY hope you see this reply as I have a HUGE request and a question as I just finished your absolutely EPIC SIM 16 book:
    1) (Question) How exactly did King Randor die??? It said he sent something to Emily and then he was seen bursting into flames shortly before Emily passed out. Did he burst into flames due to his Magic being completely used up? , and
    2) (Request): I BEGG AND IMPLOR YOU NOT TO TAKE AWAY HER MAGIC IN CURSED!!!! Emily can’t loose her magic because then what?!!
    3) Also, it would be fun if Cat proposed…and she said yes lol…

Anyway thank you for such a wonderful series and tjat one was truly Awesome!!!

    • Paul (Drak Bibliophile) Howard January 6, 2019 at 2:48 pm #

Well, Cursed is already plotted but she has her magic at the end of the book.

Not saying how her magic comes back. 😀

      • Kira January 6, 2019 at 10:29 pm #

        OMG THANK YOU!!!!😁😁😁
How did King Randor actually die though? I was confused on this at the end of SIM 16. Is there anyway I can be explained this better please? Thanks again!

      • Paul (Drak Bibliophile) Howard January 6, 2019 at 10:52 pm #

From what I can tell, Emily had pushed him over the edge in terms of controlling his own power and he lost control which killed him.

      • Kira January 6, 2019 at 10:53 pm #

Okay that is what I thought. Thank you for your amswer I really appreciate it!
