OUT NOW – Stuck in Magic (A Schooled in Magic Spin-Off)

31 Jul

Elliot Richardson thought he’d lost everything.

He’d come home from deployment to find his wife cheating on him, his sons strangers and his life in tatters. Driving away, unsure where he was going, he fell through an interdimensional rift and found himself in a very different world, a city of magic and mystery and dangers beyond his comprehension, a land spinning out of control as innovations from the distant west unsettle the monarchy and challenge the position of the aristocrats and warlords that hold the kingdom in their grasp.

Powerless and alone, with no way home, Elliot struggles to survive long enough to make a new life. But as war looms on the horizon, he finds himself forced to use his skills to make a name for himself, all too aware that the slightest slip will mean instant death – or worse.

Love that cover, I take it the sniper rifle is non-canon?

Just to confirm this is the same story as the serial chapters put out over the previous weeks.

If that’s a question, the answer is yes. 😀

Thanks (now you know why i don’t write books myself 🙂 )

Chris, do you plan to make this title available on plaforms other than Kindle? I want to buy it out of principle but I prefer to use non-Amazon e-books providers.

Noticed in the notes at the end about the highlander show, the date given for the uprising of the jacobites should be 1745, not 1945

This is a really good read. I enjoyed it.

I got a copy because I enjoyed that story and really think you deserve to be paid for that one Chris. 🙂

    Is there a page count? That’s one of the metrics I track of what I read… I know… nerd…

I bought the book even though I read all the free chapters. First to support Chris. Second to read it from start to finish without interruptions. Babylon 5 and the reboot of Battlestar Galactica were first broadcast in my area in such a totally messed up order I didn’t really get into them before I bought the DVD packages.

Showing B5 out of order is a major sin. In Australia, I managed to see them in order, but were a year behind in many cases. Also came late and had to catch up on video (good old VHS). Best sci-fi TV series ever.

Back to this book: bought it, read it, loved it.

Can’t wait for more. (And yes, I want Elliot to meet Emily… but not for a while.)

There’s an error near the start of Chapter 9:

“We’ll get you changed, then take you on patrol,” Horst said, opening a cupboard and thumbing through the racks of clothes. “And then we’ll take you on patrol.”

I’m sure he shouldn’t be saying we’re going on patrol twice.

(Ignore me if you already know about this)
