OUT NOW – The Lady Heiress (The Zero Enigma VII)

14 Sep

House Lamplighter was once amongst the greatest of the Great Houses of Shallot, but now it is a tumbling ruin.  The once-great mansion is decaying, the vast network of clients have broken ties long ago and the remaining family scrabbles over crumbs as the last remnants of their fortune are spent repaying their debts.  The family seems doomed, beyond all hope of salvation.

Lucy Lamplighter, returning to her home after her father’s death, intends to save her family by any means necessary.  Gambling everything she has left, she stakes it all on a desperate bid to rebuild House Lamplighter before the vultures begin to swoop.  But she’s playing with fire …

… And those who play with fire often get burnt.

Had me very confused as I thought we already owned book VII. Then I looked at the cover image and realised that there is a typo in the post title and I could safely buy as book VIII.

Got the book and read it, left a review on Amazon. I look forward to reading about the continuation of Isabella’s story in the next book.

However, Isn’t it about time to let Akin and Cat marry? This is dragging it out a bit. I feel like I’m reading the literature version of the Ozark tv series. Let them get to a happy ending already!!

Why use the surname of a fellow fantasy fiction author?

      Because she’s a friend? 😉

Seriously, Chris and her are apparently on-line friends and there is a very old custom for authors to name characters after people they know.

I thought it was nice having Jagi as the house founder….
        Makes her how old?

I would also imagine it relieves the author of trying to come up with new but plausible names when they have as many novels and series like Chris.
