I keep being asked about the ‘Angel in the Whirlwind’ (Kat Falcone) series, which is probably a good thing <grin>.
As you know, I finished the first book (Debt of Honour, formerly The Embers of War) and did the edits before I was diagnosed with lymphoma and ended up going into hospital. My publishers were kind enough to give me an extension, which was something of a relief. They did, however, choose to hold the first book until the second was written. I understood perfectly as I’d planned the books to come out fairly close together.
I’ve just finished the first draft of Debt of War, which is book II. Hopefully, we should have a publication date for book I in a few weeks.
Thank you for your patience.
Chris
I look forward to them. Now these were being released with the audiobook as primary. Is that still the case?
That’s the plan, i think.
Chris
Welcome back! I’d wondered what you were doing.
Also a quick question. You posted the remaining plans for SIM (4 or 5 books I think) agile back but I can’t find the post
Next is Mirror Image (Hearts Eye of course)
Then something about apprentice
The. Oath something
The Lone Power right?
search for mirror image on this site, 3rd result, back on Oct 10
“Assuming things go to plan, Cursed will be followed by Mirror Image, The Artful Apprentice, Oathkeeper, A House Divided, The Price of Power and Lone Power. That’s the planned set of titles, at least. Emily will found her university, start her apprenticeship with Void, pay her debts, then find herself plunged into the most dangerous challenge of all.”
I wonder if Oathkeeper might be when Emily finally takes care of her oath to the some of the Faerie back in Book 1.

Yes.
As always, my vote goes for you writing whatever you feel up to. The main thing is to get better and live a full life. If you can churn out more books over the long haul, that’s an extra bonus!
The SIM world, Cursed series, and the Bookworm series are all fun. However, I’d also like to add another plug for The Royal Sorceress. Looking forward to seeing how Gwen does when she brings her fiance home. No rush though. Health first.
So are you done using beta readers on spacebattles or did you just move shop?
Kat Falcone is through a publisher so can’t be in ‘open beta’ like his other (self-published) series
That, and there would be MEGA-level spoilers.
Chris
I’m a huge fan of your space warfare series, Kat Falcone, among them. While I look forward to all of your books, your health is most important to myself and I’m sure others. Publish what you can. We understand if the books aren’t coming fast and furious as they did in the past.
