Coming Up …

30 Mar

Hi, everyone

The good news is that I finished the first draft of The Princess in the Tower yesterday. There are the first, second and third sets of edits to go (horror of horrors) but I have every confidence that it will be out within a couple of months. The planned title of Book 16 is The Broken Throne, which I don’t thing will change before I start writing.

I’m currently planning to write The Family Shame next, so the schedule looks like:

April – The Family Shame (Zero 4)

May – The Embers of War (Kat Falcone 6)

June – The Long-Range War (A Learning Experience 5)

July – The Broken Throne (SIM 16)

Aug – Para Bellum (Invincible 2)

I’m not sure how well things will shake out. I have to write The Ancient Lie (Unwritten Words 2) sometime before the end of the year. I also want to write Gennady’s Story and maybe another short work set in the SIM universe. But we will see <grin>

Chris

Kat Falcone 6? What was the 5 then?

Chris said that “Hyperspace Trap” is Kat Falcone 5. 😀

Looks Good Chris even if I want “Broken Throne” earlier. 😉

You list Embers of War as book 6 of Kat Falcone, but where is book 5? Or does Hyperspace Trap count as book 5?

Thank you! It’s been 3 or 4 books since emily’s Power and skill as a sorceress really increased—please don’t rely on her trick with the batteries too much—emily’s Victory’s should come more from her personal development than secrets…and she should be moving into her adult power…

    Bravo! A fine schedule

When will SIM 14, SIM 15, and Invincible be in Paperback?

    • chrishanger April 5, 2018 at 4:35 pm #

Invincible is on the way. The others will be along soon.

That is a FANTASTIC Cover picture for The Princess in the Tower.

I just hope it is more accurate to the real story than a lot of cover art, including even SIM books, such as TSA. I can not wait to read it.

Most of my recent posting to Blogs has been to Rowe’s Broken Mirrors Blog waiting on Book 2 of Sufficiently Advanced Magic. If you have not read it, give it a try. Book 2 should be out in a month or so.

I know. The artist does good work.

Nor sure if this is a good place. I was wondering if you could write a couple books on Void so that we have a better understanding of him when the apprenticeship starts for Emily.

    • Paul (Drak Bibliophile) Howard April 3, 2018 at 2:05 pm #

Chris has reasons to not want to write stories of Void’s early life/career from his POV.

Now, he might be able to write such stories from other people’s POV.

Some more information on the compact, perhaps an appendix, would be helpful if Emily is going to take part in a civil war in Zangaria…how is the magical community responding to her killing Fulvia??

      • Paul (Drak Bibliophile) Howard April 5, 2018 at 4:42 am #

From what I read in “Graduation Day”, I suspect that Magical Society would see that she had “just cause” to kill Fulvia.

Instead of requesting a second trial after the first had ended in a “hung-jury”, Fulvia kidnapped Frieda and demanded that Emily surrender to her.

From what Chris wrote about “Trials and Justice in the Nameless World” (at the end of “Graduation Day”), Fulvia had “gone beyond the pale” and I believe that the only concern Society might have about Emily’s actions would be “how many innocents would be harmed”.

Afterwards, since Melissa (as Fulvia’s heir) and the Ashworth Family are not concerned, Society wouldn’t be concerned.

While I’d like to learn more about the Combat, Void seemed to think that Emily’s status as Baroness covered her under the Combat concerning involvement in the Civil War.

        That’s pretty much true

        Chris

      • G April 5, 2018 at 4:29 pm #

But he also said her involvement in Zangaria will cause her more problems? How??

    • chrishanger April 5, 2018 at 4:36 pm #

Probably not yet. Too many secrets would be revealed ahead of time.

Will we be seeing any more empires corps books?

    • Paul (Drak Bibliophile) Howard April 3, 2018 at 5:06 pm #

IIRC Chris is thinking about other books in that universe but doesn’t plan on writing them immediately.

      • chrishanger April 5, 2018 at 4:37 pm #

Yep. I have ideas, but I need to turn them into a plot.
