24 Dec

Hi, everyone

First, MERRY CHRISMAS and a HAPPY NEW YEAR to all of my readers. I’ve started a free book promotion – see link here – for 24th December to 26th. Please feel free to check them out or share the post. I’ve also added Storm Front to Kindle Unlimited.

It’s been a wild month. As you know, my second son was born on the 23rd November and things have been a little erratic since then. Thankfully, my mother-in-law was able to take care of Eric and allow me to finish my planned schedule to some degree (while the baby slept) although some of my plans have been thrown into the crapper.

I’m going to be taking most of the remainder of December and at least half of January off, depending on events. After that, well …

The good news is that I now have a contract for books 6-8 of the Angel in the Whirlwind series – Kat Falcone’s books. (The Hyperspace Trap will be coming out in February, although it’s more of a spin-off.) I’ve also completed The Promised Lie (The Unwritten Words I) and Alassa’s Tale (SIM 14.5). I’m hopeful they’ll be released soon.

Therefore, my plan for the next few months looks like this:

Feb – The Zero Equation (Zero 3)

March – Invincible (Ark 12)

April – The Princess in the Tower (SIM 15)

May – The Embers of War (Kat Falcone 6)

I’m considering other novellas set within the SIM universe, although so far I don’t have a coherent plot. Let me know what you’d like to see.

Merry Christmas and a happy new year to you and your family. Glad everything is going well with your newborn and happy to see you finally take some time off. Enjoy your family while you can. The little ones grow up really fast. Will look forward to reading whatever you publish in the coming year. 🙂

I like the idea of more novellas in the sim world. I’m happy for More kat Falcone.

I’d love to see you take on urban fantasy or even a mash of scifi plus magic

I’d to see what life is like in Cockatrice post-Emily. Clearly development wouldn’t stop when she leaves town – and I’d think that the continued growth of a middle class would provide challenges to the capitol in ways that aren’t really on Randor’s radar, art, public works, schools. If Imaqua (sp) gets a good grasp of “soft power” perhaps she could start work on winning trade away from the increasingly unstable capitol. OK, admittedly not a high adrenalline kind of tale, but interesting nonetheless. Q: Would Randor start bleeding some of his more capable staff if they saw a better future for themselves in Cockatrice or can meaningless hereditary positions be resigned without criminal charges?

Merry Christmas to you and the Family Chris, and best wishes for the coming year.
For my part, there is no stress about schedules Mate, love your work, but Family comes first, and I’ll be here when you are ready and back on track 🙂
Until then, Merry Christmas and all the best to you and yours 🙂

    Hey Chris,
You’re kidding, right. Although you have really good characters in all your series, and Kat is a great one, nobody holds a candle next to nuclear Emily. You know all SIM would sell just as many if you printed the whole series in mass – dragging it frustrates my inner child. Guess I can wait?!?! At least give us the next installment with plot and action equal to Sergeant’s Apprentice. The following stories were a little disappointing although acceptable. Hope Santa brings you a potion for continued inspiration. Merry Christmas

I prefer to vary my writing – it gives me time to rethink plots. But there will be more SIM …

Merry Christmas, I hope it was a good one for your recently enlarged family. I for one do not care much for novellas. The reason being is they end much too quickly. 😀.

    Take care,

    • allyk December 29, 2017 at 12:59 am #

hopefully the advantage is that they come much more quickly so you don’t have to wait so long between installments

Looking forward to my 2018 reading list already. Chris any comment on how the novella “Alassa’s Tale” is going to be published. With regards to the novella’s set in the SIM Universe. I would like to see anything that can be tied to the overall theme of how Emily’s other worldly knowledge and mere presence has impacted their world.

I had mentioned in a previous post that ever since Frieda had been introduced in book 5 she as grown on me. Now that she has been exonerated and allowed to continue her studies at Whitehall as soon as she recovers. I would like a chance to see how she is going to handle being alone at school without Emily. How will her fellow classmates treat her or would they be to frightened to attempt anything that would bring down the wrath of Frieda’s patron (Emily).
