OUT NOW–The Long Road Home (A Learning Experience IV)

23 Mar

(Sorry about the delay on this – we had to travel at short notice.)

In the wake of the Solar Union’s stunning victory over the Tokomak – the masters of the galactic community – humanity has been invited to send a diplomatic mission to the Kingdom of Harmonious Order, one of the oldest and most significant races in known space. It is an opportunity that cannot be missed, a chance to forge ties with a powerful ally. And so a lone starship is dispatched to the galactic core to open discussions …

… But when that starship runs into a deadly trap, she and her crew must battle their way home before they are merely the first casualties in a renewed war.

One comment: there were several references to being hundreds of thousands of light years away from Earth when they in the vicinity of Harmony. Assuming that they are staying inside our Milky Way Galaxy, that is somewhat inaccurate as the Milky Way is usually estimated to be about 100,000 light years in diameter or across, and the Earth is about 30,000 to 35,000 light years from the center, so most stars in the Milky Way will probably be with 70,000 to 80,000, at most 100,000 light years away from Earth’s Solar System.

Currently reading this and enjoying it hugely. The Major P. Rhodan character is quite amusing to me, nice reference.

You may want to take a look at position 1007, it’s just a minor issue but I think your editor missed something there.
