Read the thrilling conclusion now!
Humanity is losing the war. The once-mighty space navies have been crippled, officers and crew have been stretched to the limit and Earth herself has come under heavy attack. The end cannot be long delayed. For Admiral Smith and the crew of HMS Ark Royal, the stakes have never been so high.
The one hope is to make contact with alien factions that might oppose the war. But, as Ark Royal sets off on a desperate diplomatic mission, it rapidly becomes clear that there are both human and alien factions that wish to fight the war to the bitter end – and that her previous missions have sown the seeds of success … or total failure.

I miss the liner notes you do for the SIM books. Maybe after your vacation you could give us some of the background for this series too.
I can try (though the ‘past’ of this world will remain a little vague.) What – particularly – do you want along these lines? Chris Date: Fri, 6 Jun 2014 04:36:51 +0000 To: christopher_g_nuttall@hotmail.com
What’s happened to Germany? There was one German frigate in Ark Royal, otherwise they’ve been invisible. Have they shriveled up until their population is smaller than Luxembourg? I think the current birth rate is <1.5 per woman so it's not impossible that it could happen that way.
They didn’t build carriers, so they were less important in the war. That will change in the future.

Hi Chris
I have just finished the trilogy, really impressed with the series. You almost lost me during the middle of Trafalgar Gambit, I thought it was all just a little too easy. I should have know better and you certainly did not pull any punches.
Really looking forward to seeing what else happens with this setting, Really hard to put forward any suggestion though without revealing spoilers.
Well done Chris, a great read and certainly up there with the likes of O’Brian and Forester.
Thank you! Please review if you have a moment. I’m planning a second trilogy focusing on a different ship, probably with a couple of characters from the old series. I think it will be on a smaller scale, but we will see. (Maybe human-on-human rather than another war with the aliens.) Posted a couple of reviews for you Chris, I hope it helps you out.
A great idea, a small scale action.
my 2 pennys.
15 years later James Winchester as First Star Lord, Henry and Janelle as planetary governors (Albion) after their tour at Atlantis and a young Lt-Commander Penny Winchester. I see Percy more in line with joining the marines to be honest. Pirates invading the multi-tramline system Albion run by Henry and Janelle, its the start of an action by the Russians though to destablise the system and then step in once it has moved to anochy, they need to rebuild their losses somehow and Albion is just the place they need.
Thank you! I do have plans for something along those lines, but we will see Chris Date: Tue, 17 Jun 2014 20:27:45 +0000 To: christopher_g_nuttall@hotmail.com
Would like to know when your books are published in paperback or hardcover?
If I get an offer, I’ll let everyone know Chris Date: Sat, 14 Jun 2014 17:58:49 +0000 To: christopher_g_nuttall@hotmail.com
Can I buy your Ark Royal series in paper or hardback?
Not yet. I’m not sure if there’s enough demand to put them out in Createspace and I doubt any publisher will want them, without the e-rights. Chris Date: Tue, 19 Aug 2014 02:41:17 +0000 To: christopher_g_nuttall@hotmail.com
I had a great time listening to the first two books that I bought on Audible. Any idea when the 3rd will be on there? I would love to listen to the final book.
Soon, I hope. They’ve already contracted for it.
