To sum up a long and somewhat complicated story, I’ve been offered a chance to show a particular (unpublished) book to a mainstream publisher, in the hopes of breaking into the mainstream. I’ve decided, after some thought, to rewrite the older version of The Oncoming Storm, which is both stand-alone and intended as the first book in a series. Ideally, I can capitalise on the success of Ark Royal, particularly as the Kat Falcone series has a definite end in sight. (Five-seven books).
I’ve placed the original versions of the books online in RTF format, here. If you have time, please download The Oncoming Storm, read it and let me know any thoughts you might have. I’m honestly not sure how much of Dauntless will make it into the revised version of Angel in the Whirlwind, but any thoughts and comments you have on it will be welcome.
Please don’t point out spelling errors. The books will be rewritten completely.
These books are free, but if you want to tip me, please use the cookie jar on my site.

They’re crazy if they don’t give you a deal. You’re books are awesome. Good luck, Chris!
I think so too Chris Date: Sun, 13 Apr 2014 13:57:17 +0000 To: christopher_g_nuttall@hotmail.com
I’ve started Dauntless and I’m liking it. You already have my comments on the original of Oncoming Storm. Waiting eagerly for the rewrite.

Just finished Dauntless. It is easily as good as The Oncoming Storm, even fewer words that are real words but not the right ones, so won’t be caught by a spellcheck, than The Trojan Horse had! I really liked it and look forward to reading many more in this series!
Thank you! I’m planning to rewrite TOS, but I’m not sure about Dauntless. Chris Date: Mon, 14 Apr 2014 05:54:09 +0000 To: christopher_g_nuttall@hotmail.com
For what its worth I preferred Dauntless over the Oncoming Storm. I think that Larson would clean Falcones plough in a head to head contest. I did think the last half of The Oncoming Storm was absolutly awesome, But I had some trouble warming up to Kat Falcone. Both books are very good.
Thank you! Larson probably would win in a straight fight Chris Date: Sun, 4 May 2014 21:06:49 +0000 To: christopher_g_nuttall@hotmail.com
Just finished up the last book in my immediate queue last night, so I’ll give them a look.

I’m liking Dauntless a lot. It would be a shame if it didn’t find it’s way to Angels in the whirlwind.
Bits of it probably will. I’m just not sure which ones Chris Date: Wed, 16 Apr 2014 09:01:18 +0000 To: christopher_g_nuttall@hotmail.com
Just finished Dauntless and just started on Storm. Two things jumped out at me. #1 Kat has some kind of implant (assuming mil grade) yet they are never mentioned in Dauntless as being used by the RAN. #2 Lucas Falcone has offices inside of Theocracy territory. Seems out of place with what was portrayed in Dauntless. I didn’t think they allowed ANY trading or outside businesses.
Dauntless was pretty damn good and it would be a shame if it wasn’t included. Are they not going to be two separate books?
It depends. I may fit parts of Dauntless in, or I may leave it as a completely separate book. Chris Date: Thu, 17 Apr 2014 13:50:34 +0000 To: christopher_g_nuttall@hotmail.com
You actually have two compelling characters and story lines.
I think you should keep Phillip in Asher Dales. Space warfare is 4 dimensional by it’s nature. Time being the fourth dimension.
What happens on a star faring nations borders that aren’t in the direct line of fire? Kat may find herself in titanic battles, but Phil and crews like his got to keep things from eroding everywhere else.
A half baked cluster of stars, multiple star nations that are vaguely interested, pirates, reduced resources, the only safe harbor in the area. Fun times?
Sounds like it Chris Date: Wed, 23 Apr 2014 05:33:56 +0000 To: christopher_g_nuttall@hotmail.com
